We established our trust in February 1997.
April – Trust registration with charity commissioner
July – Inauguration by then Hon’ble Minister Shri Prakash Mehta: Holistic Child Care Centre and Special School; Dedicated to children with mental Health dysfunction: Operating through Holistic Multidisciplinary Approach.
January – First free multidisciplinary child care camp. – Truly a unique feature – Was the first of the many more which we continue to conduct
10th April – Establishment of pathology Laboratory and Physiotherapy unit.
10th April – Establishment of Occupational Therapy Department and Dental Clinic.
July – School for slow learners shifted to a new, bigger place in a regular School set up near Pant Nagar Police Station Ghatkopar East.
January – Establishment of Advance School for Autism.
October – Foundation undertakes publication of Indian Journal of Homoeopathic Medicine. Inauguration of Audio Visual room.
November – First scientific presentation on child care at Bhubaneswar at a Seminar Organized by Indian Association of Homoeopathic Physicians.
March – Collaboration with Mumbai Districts Aids Control Society (MDACS) and KEM Hospital for our holistic HIV / AIDS Project. This gave tremendous Momentum to our activities in the field of HIV and AIDS. It enabled us to investigate our patients at concessional rates and maintain thorough Scientificity in the entire project. 10th April – Emergence of SPANDAN HOLISTIC INSTITUTE. On the auspicious Hahnemann Day, all the projects of the foundation were brought under SPANDAN HOLISTIC INSTITUTE Positive experience of implementation of Holistic psycho-educational Approach in a number of projects in a number of areas, all units together With a sound philosophical foundation elaborated in SPANDAN: SYMPHONY! Intensive and Extensive outreach project.
October – Foundation receives FCRA registration. Registration No. – 083780870 This enabled us to receive foreign donations.
January – Inauguration of Spandan Holistic Child Care Centre at Ahmedabad.
Commencement of comprehensive mobile van. This is in collaboration With MDACS. We got an opportunity to serve the people living in slums – A population of 5 Lakhs.
13th April – Hahnemann Day Celebration by : Inaugural function of Mobile van Community services, HIV Aids Project and multidisciplinary free Child Care Camp.
July – Scientific paper on AUTISM presented at a National Seminar in Delhi Paper focused on the scientific combination of Homoeopathy and Sensory Integration therapy and its impact on AUTISM, a serious development Disability in Children.
10th January – We have conducted a free medical education camp for children at Shivaji Nagar Area, Mumbai.
10th April – Hahnemann day celebration by Upgradation of Cerebral palsy unit, Comprehensive Neuro – Muscular rehabilitations Unit.
8th May – We have conducted health camps periodically in Kurla. Visited by Hon’ble Minister Shri Manohar Joshi.
10th April – Scientific paper on Homoeopathy and Child Care presented at a seminar Organized by Directorate ISM and H, Gujarat State and Homoeopathic Medical Association of Gujarat. Thousands of doctors attended the seminar.
Launched Global Homoeopathic Training Courses Advanced fellowship Courses in Homoeopathy for foreign students.
May – Spandan branching out far and wide: International seminar and workshop, Conducted at famous Regent College, London and Harcourt Hotel, Dublin Ireland.
June – Our Special School is recognized by the Ministry of Social Welfare Reg. No.918.
A presentation on HIV and Homoeopathy was presented at Shri. Rajashri ChatrapatiShahu memorial Homoeopathic conference, Kolhapur. It created a deep impact and thoroughly impressed the audience.
July – Spandan provides a strong platform for training. It has established itself as a premier Institute for Homoeopathic training. It guides groups from Ireland, Ahmedabad and Sangli. Many doctors have enrolled themselves in our fellowship courses.
25th September – We have conducted a free medical education camp for children in Mumbai.
November – BMC allots a plot of land at Deonar for construction of Spandan Holistic Mother – and – Child care Hospital
January – Collaboration with SAVE FOUNDATION, Sangli which has been working in the field of HIV/AIDS. Spandan started a training programme on HIV/AIDS. Spandan started a training programme on HIV /AIDS for their doctors. Dr. Prasad Kelkar has been their coordinator.
Spandan Holistic Child Care Centre receives accreditation from the National Trust for the welfare of persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation and multiple disabilities under ministry of social Justice and Empowerment Govt. of India Reg. No. 1338 / MR – CP-MD-AUT / 2006.
We conducted a global training course for doctors from Europe. They were extremely impressed by the dedicated efforts of the team and were moved by witnessing our activities in the slum area. This motivated them and they have taken up a fundraising drive for Spandan in Ireland.
March – Spandan Holistic Institute of Applied Homoeopathy receives accreditation From AYUSH, Ministry of health and social welfare, Govt of India, New Delhi. This will enable SPANDAN to carry out quality research in collaboration with AYUSH.
April – After crossing various hurdles, finally a paper plot with dilapidated maternity home was allotted. Premium paid.
Establishment of Department of Clinical Research.
We conducted a research project with the title “Exploring Effectiveness of homeopathic therapeutics in the management of childhood autism disorder” from November 2006 to November 2009.
Project was conducted under the auspices of Central Council of Research in homeopathy, under the Ministry of Health, Government of India. Sixty cases were enrolled from November 2006 to March 2008. The results were quite promising. 9 children out of sixty came in a non-autistic range after the intervention. Findings published in a peer-reviewed international research journal.
We have conducted a research project titled, “Effectiveness of Homoeopathic intervention in Autism Spectrum Disorder” under Auspices of the Central Council Of Research In Homoeopathy under the Ministry Of Ayush, Govt. of India, Dr. Praful Barvalia as Principal Investigator.
In addition to Autism, we carried out projects on Depression, Thyroid disorder and Undernutrition.
Wonderful school health project: Public health initiative project:
M.B. Barvalia Foundation’s SPANDAN institution has been working for slum children for the last 16 years & we have conducted health camps periodically in such deserving areas.
We had undertaken a challenging project under AYUSH – Public Health Initiative. The project was dedicated to the needs of children with disabilities, mental health dysfunctions in the community as well as mainstream schools. We have adopted various schools from slum & underprivileged areas.
April – Finally physical possession of the plot after 150 rounds of presentation.
7th December – Inauguration of Spandan Homoeopathy & Holistic Child Care Centre at Ramabai Ambedkar Nagar, Ghatkopar; Dedicated to children with mental Health dysfunction: Operating through Holistic Multidisciplinary Approach.
2nd April – Conducted a public awareness campaign on world autism day.
Construction started in 2010 with the help of Hasmukh Barvalia, Hilton developers and Piyush Kothari – Jwelex foundation.
Project on malnutrition to explore the status of malnutrition in Mumbai’s structured and unstructured slums: The objective of the study was to help better targeting of the population at the highest risk for impactful nutrition programs.
- 26th January – Inauguration of the first phase of Hospital: we started maternity and OPD services. This was possible with the help of:

HOMOEOPATHY AND AUTISM CONFERENCE – 2 APRIL 2017 @ ABU DHABI: Dr. Praful Barvalia was invited as KEYNOTE SPEAKER for HOMOEOPATHY AND AUTISM CONFERENCE -APRIL 2017 organized by Lotus Holistic Institute, Khalifa City A, Abu Dhabi and Tunisian society of Homoeopathy.Wonderful event on the auspicious WORLD AUTISM AWARENESS DAY, 2nd April 2017 to Visualize autism in multidimensional areas of biological, Psychological, Behavioral, and social aspects.
Spandan Holistic Institute Of Applied Homoeopathy launches academic courses in Childcare: Homoeopathic Approach To Developmental Disability And Mental Health Problems. We are starting with an orientation course on 11th June 2017.

- 20th April 2018 World Autism awareness day, we celebrated by organizing a seminar for parents & caregivers of children with AUTISM.
- On 15th May 2018, M. B Barvalia Foundation’s Spandan Holistic Hospital organized a free medical camp in Mantangkrushi Mandir of Sathe Nagar.
- Certificate Course in Addiction Medicine for Family Physicians – Comprehensive course giving great insight into the process of addiction and its multidimensional holistic solution. There were 8 sessions conducted every Friday starting from 31st August 2018.
- The highly successful AUTISM NATIONAL WORKSHOP was conducted at SPANDAN HOLISTIC MOTHER AND CHILD CARE HOSPITAL on 23rd, 24th, and 25th November 2018.

- 26th January – Celebration of Republic day and 5th anniversary of Spandan hospital, Deonar today morning with Spandan Staff and Special School teachers, parents and children with Founder Chairman Dr.Praful Barvalia…Sir spoke on the significance of Republic day and explained the same to children in simple words.
A short program with flag hoisting, National anthem, March past, national Pledge, Distribution of prizes(medals), and certificates of sports day followed by dance, fun, frolic, and refreshments.

Spandan Holistic Mother and Child Care Hospital has organized two camps which are 90th Free General Medical Camp and Medical Camp for children with Mental Health Problems, Developmental Disabilities, and Neurological Disorders.During this camp, eminent consultants from various disciplines will be giving their valuable services for free.
All the children will be examined by the relevant consultants of the panel and parents will be given free consultation and orientation regarding diagnosis,
prognosis, future options, and various modes of therapeutic interventions, education, and rehabilitation.
- 20th Feb – Today Spandan Special School has participated in a Dance Competition in SNDT Conducted by Inner Wheel Club of Deonar. The performance of our children was Awesome.
